About Us
The John Heuerman Tennis Academy was established in 1991 with a view to making tennis accessible to all the community. Our coaches pride themselves on creating a fun and enjoyable approach to tennis for all ages and abilities. All of our coaches are LTA Accredited and internationally qualified, they hold a current enhanced DBS check and are able to deliver group and 1:1 sessions. John Heuerman
Internationally Qualified Coach
John founded the Tennis Academy in 1991 and qualified as both an USA and UK tennis coach. Emphasis was to offer the highest level of tennis coaching within local parks and schools making tennis accessible to all. John now spends most of his time in the Pro Shop at Otford managing all aspects of the academy which has grown significantly over the years.
Steve Seffens
Head Coach
Steve PTR UK qualified and loves all levels of coaching from grass roots, schools tennis all the way through to performance tennis. Steve is the main point of contact for all things competition based, organising our Junior teams and matchplays at Hollybush.
Alex King
Coach
Alex is a Level 3 Coach & LTA Accredited. Alex joined the Academy in 2022 full time running Squad sessions (Juniors - Adults) Private lessons & School Lessons.
James Dunn
Coach
James joined the Academy in 2020. James is a UK PTR Qualified Coach & is LTA Accredited. Working with schools, juniors to adults. James is the main contact/organiser for all national club league matches and still competes himself at a local level.
Gerry Hart
Welfare Officer

Yvette Clements
Coach
Yvie joined us in 2022 to assist with the coaching programmes and tennis development. Since September 22 Yvie will be splitting her time with KCC and us while she also trains to become a PT Instructor

As well as training full time on the itf Pro Tour Connor will be seen around on court assisting with the coaching programmes and stringing racquets up in the Pro shop. WARNING watch out for his serves that are coming in at 130mph!!
Georgie Heuerman
Tennis Coach
Pro Shop & Marketing
The Tennis Academy becomes a family business with the addition of Georgie. After assisting on court with us from the age of 12. Georgie began her qualifications at 16 with her LTA Level 1 and has just completed her training with the international PTR qualification. You may also recognise her from our Pro Shop where she has spent the last few years as "the saturday girl" and is now a full time member of the staff.
